Warmboard-S

Perfect for New Homes and Renovations

Warmboard-S Installs Directly Over FLOOR JOISTS OR SLABS

Warmboard-S is our flagship hydronic heating panel and the leading product in the industry, preferred by architects, builders and homeowners alike. It is a 28mm thick radiant panel that provides unmatched response, energy efficiency and comfort. The thickness of the 7-ply plywood panel also means you can install it as a structural subfloor. Yes – the same labour, skills and tools used to install a subfloor can be used to install Warmboard-S. As the panels are installed, the modular channel pattern automatically produces the tubing layout, a process that takes much more time with other radiant systems. Roll the 16mm tubing into the stamped pattern and attach to the hydronic circuit. This smooth process saves you money throughout your construction process. The entire panel, including the tubing channel, is bonded to thick aluminium creating a highly conductive surface which pulls the heat from the tube rapidly and spreads evenly throughout your home. Warmboard-S delivers a sturdier floor for your clients as well, and virtually any type of flooring can be installed over these panels.

Warmboard-S panels can handle exposure to rain, snow, and ice. In fact, the aluminium top surface of Warmboard-S acts as a ‘built in’ weather barrier making it even more impervious to rain and snow than standard Exposure 1 plywood. During construction, Warmboard-S panels can be walked on, bracing can be nailed off and bottom plates can be nailed directly to them. In general, Warmboard-S should be treated in the same manner as any other plywood subfloor.

Warmboard interfaces with all types of finished floors, from wide plank hardwood to thick carpets. In fact, Warmboard is among the only radiant products to be endorsed by multiple hardwood companies, Warmboard is specified for all major tile assemblies.

Our design team will work with you (or architect or builder) to design the optimal panel layout for your project, including your zone preferences. Colour-coded plans are provided showing where each panel is installed, includes tubing layouts and manifold locations. Each project includes tools to ensure a smooth installation, including alignment pins and router templates. Warmboard is pleased to offer Alu-PEX tubing, pre-assembled manifolds and other accessories for your project. Speak to one of our representatives to learn more.

With Warmboard-S, everything is easier. Unlike high-mass systems, there’s no need to double-sill or add structural reinforcements to accommodate the massive weight of the pour. Our panels are strong and durable, unlike other low-mass products. With our 300mm tubing spacing, we outperform the competition by a wide-margin, even those with twice the tubing. With Warmboard, you require less tubing, fewer manifolds, a more simplified control system and less labour, all saving time and money.

Warmboard-S and Warmboard-R hydronic radiant panels offer the same superior heating performance. Both products are made with the same thick aluminum that covers the entire panel surface, including all straight and curved channels where tubing is placed. Thermodynamically identical, both products provide the same benefits of comfort and energy efficiency. Generally, new construction and new additions will use Warmboard-S, benefitting from its dual function as a structural subfloor. Remodeled areas of a home will typically use Warmboard-R. Our staff is ready to guide you through this process should you have further questions.
